As a Lighting Designer, I love to breathe emotion in and to sculpt the world that my collaborators create. I’ve loved the light that exists around us longer than I’ve realized. I have vivid memories of moments such as sitting in the back of my parents car driving through the wooded parts of my home town, feeling comfort as the light breaks through the leaves reaching me and bouncing around. When I was competing in cross country, as I was running the course would open up to a meadow and the sun would set behind a single farmhouse on a hill in the distance. I’d be overwhelmed with a sense of wonder, only to be broken by my coach yelling at me that my pace slowed down. These moments among others are what began to draw me to lighting and what my take on lighting would be.
The pursuit of lighting has allowed to go places I never thought I’d be and finding my community all over the globe. I’m excited to see where it takes me next.
